Touring the Amazon River by Riverboat

That night the group had drinks and watched our first subset over the Amazon. The tour guide admitted that he had purposely lowered our expectations for the riverboat's accommodations.

He said he started doing this for all tour groups several years earlier. He said since he started doing this no one has complained about their cabin.

Since I have returned home from the Amazon trip many people have ask me how I enjoyed the trip.

I always say that we enjoyed the trip but I quickly add -- if you are considering going to the Amazon you have a accept that you are going to a primitive part of the world. You have got to be willing to tough it out. And if you decide to take the trip, I would highly recommend that you purchase hammocks before you leave the States. Taking your own hammocks is highly recommended. If you are interested I have two hammocks I can sell you at a very good price.
